I would recommend attending the course. I just took the course two weeks
ago in Houston, TX and it was outstanding. It's amazing the amount of
material covered in just one week. Bruce lectures until about 7:00, but you
can pretty much stay as late as you want to use the equipment. Two people
share a pod that includes ATM and voice gear. There is also a shared token
ring switch and ISDN switch that are nice if you haven't touched a TR
switch. When I attended the course they had added a lab assistant who is an
employee that is working on their CCIE. This allow Bruce to leave after
lecturing, but allows you to stay until very late. I left there most
mornings close to 2 am. It was great having that much equipment to work on.
The course is a good mixture of labs and lecture. We would discuss
something and then get right into configuring it. By the way, don't plan on
having a lunch break as we just grabbed a bite and kept working.
The labs covered IGP's, ISDN, ATM, BGP, IPX, DEC, AT, CLNS, TB, STP, IRB,
catalyst config, DLSW, Voice, ACL's, NAT, LAT, policy routing, irdp, and
mobile ip.
Not only is a lot of material covered, but Bruce has an excellent job of
making you "spot the issue". Also, the lab assistant, Jamie, was a great
help.
