Default config is to run full spanning tree on all ports.
This tends to kill AppleTalk, IPX (GetNearestServer) and
DHCP if you're using relatively fast machines.
Try 'spanning-tree portfast' in interface config mode to
allow the switch to take the port directly to forwarding
in stead of going through listening and learning.
