Do a web search for "Mcaster". It's a pretty nifty tool.
Useful for basic multicast connectivity checks. It can
send and receive mcast packets.
Also, check out:

(there's probably a closer source for U.S. users)
for some cool mcast apps that are ported to various platforms:

nte- Network Text Editor
wbd- WhiteBoard
They all work well on my NT boxes.
