UniverCD and the documentation CD are one in the same, and yes this is the
one I am referring to. If you look under switches, under 5k, you will find
password recovery. This is an excellent tutorial. Let me know if you
cannot find it, and I will send the url.

This is a step of the conversation, but which CD are you refering to. I
understand that Cisco provides the CD on the exam. Is that the standard
documentation CD or the UniverCD that I've seen around? Or are these the
same?

I got burned on this on my first attempt, and since then I used the
Cisco
CD, which has a decent step by step procedure. Use that as your source,
so
you can reference it on the exam.

Hi team,

Can anyone tell me how is the password recovery on the Catalyst 5000
successfully done. It is said that the password is not effective till
the
first 30 sec.
When does this 30 sec. period start ? Immediately after I get the boot
messages on the console OR after the bootstrap loads OR after I get the
Console >
prompt ?

I tried all 3 ways above, but no luck. Pls. help.

Regards

Honeid Rupawala.
