Without seeing your config, I would think you'd want the hub router to be
the rp. Does nbma need to be on all routers? Doesn't it just enable
unicast conversion of multicast routing updates?

OK-
here's the deal
r5 & r7 frame spoke routers
r3 hub router
r7 has igmp group 224.6.5.4 & is the RP
can multicast ping from r3 & r7, but r5 cannot
ip pim sparse on all interfaces
ip rp on leaf nodes
ip pim nbma on hub router-Still cannot ping-pulling hair out?
any ideas?
