True, many are calling them the same thing. That was what I thought when I
was told I had to teach about this "new" stuff called Mobile IP. I'm
thinking, it's been around for years, it's functional, but sucks in general,
why is it coming back? ;)

"Mobile IP" as a term is referring to the start of integration between
wireless or cellular networks and the real IP world. It is fun stuff. I
just assumed that's what he was talking about, since his signature made it
appear as if he worked more on the communications side of things. Perhaps I
assumed wrong. Hope not. Local area mobility is functional, but requires
bridging your network, which defeats the purpose of life in general. ;)

Guys,

I think people are getting confused between mobile ip
and local area mobility. People are classing both as
the same and they are not. I am not sure what you all
feel about this one ?
