I think Caslow is talking about the RIP/IGRP split-horizon. Are you sure
he's referring to EIGRP S-H?

I think Caslow is referring to the fact that adding static maps disables
IARP requests on that router. The router still responds to IARP request from
other routers. BTW, it does not have to be the same DLCI (it does have to be
the same protocol).

I couldn't agree more. Caslow's book is one of the better ones though. There
are a lot of books out there with total misinformation.
