Here is the situation -
I have two routers with p-p bris and ipx running on them. THe routers
are connected to a bunch of networks. When the ser 0 on one of the
routers goes down and I start the ipx ping the bri comes up and DDR
functions. But, when I bring up the ser 0 the bri does not quit from
coming up on the ipx ping. COnsequently, the ipx traffic traffic still
brings up the bri even though the ser 0 is up. I am running ipx rip on
the bris. From debugs what is causing this to happen is as follow -
o The router still thinks a better route is achieved via the bri
although I have clearly defined a folating static.
o The metric is higher on the floating sttatic but the router does not
see that.
This is what I have done to try to resolve this issue -
o Increase the metrics on the floating static - no use
o Defined an dialer list with no ipx sap, no ipx rip and no ipx 457
serializations and permit ipx any any
o Increase the hop count
None of the above three approaches or combinations have worked. If
you have any suggestions please let me know. Thank you.
Regards,
Vijay.
