PPP callback

All,

I am testing PPP callback and am having one minor problem. I have two routers
configured for PPP callback, one as the client and one as the server. When I t
ry to ping from the client to the server, the client initiates a call and reque
sts the callback. But before the server can call back, the client tries to dia
l again (2nd ping packet) and connects, so the server's interface is unavailabl
e when it tries to return the original call. As you can imagine, this happens
for all five ping packets, and in the end, the server usually cannot connect.
(It has actually managed a connection after the last call a couple of times.)

If I do an extended ping and specify only one packet, everything is fine. The
server initiates the callback right after getting the call, and both routers ar
e happy.

What do I need to do to prevent the callback client from initiating so many cal
ls in such quick succession? I have followed the PPP callback config guide and
used all of the commands it lists. I have even tried playing with the timers
on the callback client. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Many thanks,
Keith
