Earl,
Don't give up too soon........SUCCESS in Halifax. Two of us passed
yesterday, I'm #6012.
My quest for CCIE began almost exactly a year ago after passing the written.
This was my third attempt at the lab, made it to day 2 on all other
attempts, but couldn't get through the morning of day 2. I haven't
participated much in this list, more of a lurker, but the questions asked
are excellent and if you can answer them, passing shouldn't be a problem.
Is the test getting harder, yes and no. There are a lot more topics on the
test than there used to be, but I don't think you have to know them to the
depth you would if there were only a couple topics.
Anyway, what I used to study
Books:
Caslow's book of course ---- Also took his class, highly recommended
Internet Routing Architectures, Halabi
All-In-One CCIE Lab Study Guide, Hutnik & Satterlee
Classes:
ECP1 from Chesapeake, now mentor tech I think
and of course, this mailing list which is excellent. I am fortunate enough
to have a large lab at my office, 10 routers and a cat5k, and have spend
endless hours working through problems in there. I used scenarios posted on
this list and from fatkid.com.
I will keep lurking on the list and good luck to all those still striving to
pass
Victor
CCIE #6012
