You have to make sure you launch the CD with Cisco's Doc CD icon. It runs a pr
ogram called
'search.exe' that decompresses the data on the CD so the browser can read it, a
nd runs as a
webserver on port 8080. If you open it just with the browser, you'll see a bun
ch of gibberish.
For Windows 2000, there needs to be a key 'HK_LM\Software\Microsoft\IE4\Setup\P
ath' of type String
with a value of c:\program files\Internet Explorer
What is probably in there already is %programfiles%\Internet Explorer The Doc
CD doesn't like that
under W2K. And make sure you have all the latest compatibility updates install
ed.
