This is the scenario
R1(Serial)-----------(Serial)R1
(BRI)--------------(BRI)
That is, the two routers have parallel paths between them, one serial and
one ISDN. I was hoping to be able to use snapshot routing to backup the
serial link. I increased the ipx ticks to allow the serial link to be the
preferred route. If I do "ipx down" on the serial during the active period,
the backup works fine. During the quiet period, however, the bri routes do
not show up.
I have come to the following conclusion regarding snapshot:
Routes must be in the routing table for a "snapshot" to be taken.
Can anyone confirm this? And if it is true, is there a way to use snapshot
as a backup interface?
