Guys and Gals,
I have a problem. I'm trying to config ISDN between 2 2500 BRI routers
running 12.0(8) and 12.0(9) respectively
I'm using a very basic config on each router, using PPP encapsulation and
dialer map statements. I'm trying to build up on the config as I go along.
I get it to work fine in a simple environment, with dialer maps on both
ends, but when I remove the dialer map statement from the called router, my
pings fail.
Two things happen, 1. the called router tries to call back to the
calling router and can't because this dynamic dialer mapping thing does not
work!
2. the called router tries to still use both
channels. - there is no bi-directional activity on the single B channel?
What confuses me is that I'm sitting here with Caslows book and have
configured these two routers as demonstrated, but I can't get the
bi-directional or dynamic mapping to work.
If I use a "dialer map ip x.x.x.x name rx" statement on the called router I
get a static map shown when I do "sh isdn map" but it still does not work as
there is no number to dial back on!
Help please, if you could just point me in the right direction (I'm working
on dialer profiles now - but this dynamic mapping still does not work and
nor does the bi-directional issue)
thanks,
Leigh Shepherd
