Hi,
I was browsing the labs on Fatkid.com and came across the Queuing
& Performance lab. http://www.fatkid.com/html/queuing.html
The solution to question 5 says that 'traffic-shape group 101
16000 32000 32000 1000' should ensure that traffic specified in
ACL 101 would get at least 16 kbps but no more than 32 kbps.
I don't get it.
The 12.1 command reference states that the third parameter is the
burst size (not the burst rate, bits not bps) and that the fourth
parameter is the excess burst size (not rate, bits not bps).
I did a quick test on one of the routers in my lab:
| ah-r3#conf t
| Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
| ah-r3(config)#int s0
| ah-r3(config-if)#traffic-shape group 101 16000 32000 32000 1000
| ah-r3(config-if)#end
| ah-r3#sh traffic
|
| Interface Se0
| Access Target Byte Sustain Excess Interval Increment Adapt
| VC List Rate Limit bits/int bits/int (ms) (bytes) Active
| - 101 16000 8000 32000 32000 2000 4000 -
| ah-r3#
(Note, the router's set the interval to 2 secs).
Anyone care to comment?
Derek?
TIA,
-A
PS: (First) lab test on 08may/09may in Bruxelles.
