Well, I thought the same as you do. Look at the documentation. It clearly spe
cifies that the summary address command is used when injecting routes into ospf
 and not the other way around. The ip ospf network command on a loopback is a
n interesting idea. I had not heard that one before. Anyone else have thought
s on this?
