RAM configuration (slightly off topic)

Apologies for being a little off topic, but I thought you guys might know
the answer. Does anyone know how to determine what kind of memory chips a
router has installed? For example, you might telnet into a router at a
remote site and find out that you have 24 MB of RAM, but you would have no
idea if you had one 24 MB chip, two 12 MB chips or possibly an 8 MB and 12
MB chip installed. Anyone know a way to determine this without traveling
to a remote site and removing the cover? Thanks!
George
