After it asks for the configuration dialog, or in the banners immediately
before that, look for its configuration register settings.

You can see it as the last line in "sho ver".

If you can get it enabled, set config-register to 0x2102 and reboot.

Depending on how badly he hosed it, this ought to work. Otherwise,
you may have to send it a break and get into ROM monitor mode, wipe
its config and reboot. If the image on flash is corrupt, you can get
it to RX-boot mode and tftp a new image.

Good practice for troubleshooting... :-)
