RE: AppleTalk on FastEthernet interface

Dawit,

Try replacing your cross-over cable. It is possible that the transmit path
from R1 to R2 is broken, thus R2 is showing line protocol as being. The
transmit path from R2 to R1 is still good since R1 is showing line protocol
as up.

If you are making the cross-over cable, be sure that the pin crossing is as
follows:

1 -> 3
2 -> 6

Also, be sure that you are crimping the promper type of end to the type of
cable you have.
In other words, cables that have stranded conductors need a differnet type
of end than a solid conductor. If you mix the two ... bad, easily broken,
and unreliable connections can result.
