actually a reboot is not necessary in that instance... However, the clear
ip bgp * (or use to clear a specific bgp neighbor session) IS required
whenever you change parameters affecting a bgp database... That's a much
shorter version than reloading the whole router. If you were on a
production-class router, reloading it would suck, and would be avoided at
all costs!

I think my routers were in CRRS mode (Cisco Reboot Required Syndrome). I
write erased and reloaded the same configs and all works. Thanks all for
