You're correct in questioning it, and I don't believe it's a really nice way
of showing people how to do things, but they didn't ask me. :)

The map ip statements ending in "broadcast" will help the network in
pretending that there's no splithorizon issues. If you were to set up these
three routers as they have them configured, you'd see through debug commands
that Chicago and Boston actually send RIP packets to each other as well as
to Atlanta.

Configuring subinterfaces is a much more intelligent approach, in my
opinion....

he never bothered about split horizon.Here the routing protocl is RIP and at

HUB he used multipoint I/F.
