I have had success with hyper terminal on Win 95 and 98 using just the plain
old escape key and nothing else. This seemed to work for me. I use Procomm
however on a daily basis and the break key there is ALT-B.

I am practicing password recovery at home. I have both NT4.0 server and
workstation, I tried Ctrl-Break doesn't work with NT's Hyperterminal. Could
