Don't forget that you should add the default network to the EIGRP network
statements:

router eigrp 1
network 172.16.0.0
network 10.0.0.0

ip default-network 172.16.0.0

This is regardless if you have any interfaces in the 172.16.0.0 address
range. Without the network statement it will not push the default route
into the EIGRP cloud.
