Peter
Thank you very much - it works a treat now. It was the modem inout command whi
ch I was missing.
Cheers
Alex.

Subject: Question Regarding PPP over Async
Hi
Does anyone have a sample configuration for PPP over async lines?
I am connecting a 2600 router to a 2500 router with a standard Cisco
console cable between the two auxilary ports. For the 2600 I am
configuring:
line async 65
and for the 2500:
line async 1
And am using the commands at both ends:
ip address x.x.x.x 255.255.0.0
encapsulation ppp
async default routing
async mode dedicated
I cannot get the line protocol to come up for this.
Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks heaps
in advance for your help.
Cheers
Alex
