I tested a OSPF lab from Caslow book ( OSPF MD5 authentication ) but my
strategy was to use loopback interfaces for all the routers.
I added loopback interfaces to all the routers ( 4 of them ) and would like
to know :
1) What are the issues involve in using loopback interfaces ?
2) I use loopback interfaces and put all of them on OSPF Area 0...
Is this the correct method / approach ?
Should I put them on another Area instead ?
3) In my routing table, I get a O ( OSPF route ) for all the other loopback
interfaces,
Is this allowed on the CCIELAB exam ?
*** I use loopback interface because I wanted to maintain consistency when
OSPF uses as a Router ID, ( so it does not change... ) and save me time with
issuing the ip ospf priority XXX commands for all the routers and also I
find this is a better approach for troubleshooting...
Would appreciate any feedback on this loopback interface issue..
