Yes it does, you may also need to tweak NHRP timers for better scalability and
use dynamic BGP peering on hub.

Nobody can tell you an exact number, it also depends on number of prefixes
per spoke, overall network stability, but with a proper BGP configuration
you should be able to go beyond 3000 spokes.

Encryption performance is one scalability issue, hub needs to support the
sum of bandwidths for spokes. But in DMVPN, the routing protocol and
associated number of prefixes per spoke is the problem. You should go with
