I would second that recommendation. Instead of buying routers, invest in a
good multicore server, run ESXi on it and build your topologies with either
upcoming CML or CSR1000v. With that kind of a setup you can practice a lot
for the lab. At a later time, you can expand your lab paradise with some
external switches and you will have a full lab :-).
Your electrical bill will thank you.
