Thanks for the reply guys! Its a 2900 router. I've raised the MTU on the
tunnel source interface (GIg0/1) and it worked. Now can someone tell me what
is the difference between the "mtu" interface command and the "ip mtu"
interface command? The former goes up to 9576 and the later only 1500.

in case doing the system mtu in switch watch out save your configs
because
its a must to reload and you will found the parser replaying to you
when
you change the sys mtu value that the new MTU will take effect after
reload. it easy part but its hard to implement during the business hours
because if you did it in this time you will be fired for sure ;)
