There is a great free tool for generating multicast traffic from TwistedPair Solutions I haven't looked for it in a while but it should be under the support section.

iperf for linux. MPING for windows. You can also join a group on an interface that is pim enabled and ping from a different router to the address you subscribed the interface to.
ip igmp join-group 239.10.10.10
from other router: ping 239.10.10.10
should get a response from the joined interface IP.
