I was not aware until today that SNAT is EOL. We have two routers at each
customer site for redundancy and running SNAT on Cisco ISR3925 routers
running 15.1.4m4 code. Surprisingly after several customer deployments we
finally had one where the Secondary ISR kept crashing. We collected the
crash files and show tech and opened a Cisco TAC case.
The response was that SNAT was an issue and is EOL and soon end of support
Jan 31,2014 but the products only show ASA platform that cisco TAC rep
provided.
He also referenced due to bug CSCtc77802. However that bug lookup brought
no returns back.
The recommend changes were to adjust the HSRP times to 60 seconds however
when reading the recommend documentation Cisco provided it stated during
testing within their Lab 60 seconds brought to much of a delay for
client-sever interaction : ) the examples (example 15 and 16) tuned them
down to "standby delay min 20 reload 20" and "standby 1 preempt delay min
20 reload 20 sync 20".
However he did mentioned that SNAT was being replaced by Cisco NAT HA and
provided the upgrade in IOS 15.3(2)T code.

Do we think this is something worth studying for on the next blueprint for
R/S when it does come out !?! : )
