done some further digging as thought OSPF might be apart of this rule
but it seems not, anyone know why IOS has set the TTL to 2?

I'm thinking here OSPF is link state hence TTL=1 and EIGRP/RIP is
distance vector TTL=2 to account for NBMA situations, please confirm
