Re: Router on a stick question

This is what I am talking about:

This part shows you what is allowed over the trunk:

Port Vlans allowed and active in management domain
Et2/0 1,67,79,100
Et2/1 1,67,79,100
Et2/2 1,67,79,100
Et3/0 1,67,79,100
Et3/1 1,67,79,100
Et3/2 1,67,79,100
Et4/0 1,67,79,100
Et4/1 1,67,79,100
Et4/2 1,67,79,100

This part shows you what is actually being sent over the trunk. For this
part the entry for Et2/0, 4/0, 4/1, and 4/2 are what you would want to see.
Your VLANs are being sent. The entries for E2/1 - 3/2 aren't sending any
VLANs over the trunk. Usually this is going to only happen if you have VLAN
pruning turned on or if the interface is in Spanning-tree blocking state
for those VLANS.

Port Vlans in spanning tree forwarding state and not pruned
Et2/0 1,67,79,100
Et2/1 none
Et2/2 none
Et3/0 none
Et3/1 none
Et3/2 none
Et4/0 1,67,79,100
Et4/1 1,67,79,100
Et4/2 1,67,79,100

Like I said IOU does some strange things, especially around layer 2 stuff.
One thing that threw me for a loop in the troubleshooting lab is that the
result of "show run | sec bgp" would only show me part of the BGP
configuration. Leaving out part of the config so I had to start using "show
run | beg router bgp" instead to see the bgp config.
