Hi Experts.
R1---R2---R3---R4----R5
Running sparse mode. R3 is RP(3.3.3.3), R1 is server(10.0.1.1), R5 is client (225.0.5.5).
Whenever I start pinging multicast group (225.0.5.5).
R2 is also having (*,G) entry in its Multicast routing table. Why?
R2#show ip mroute
(*, 225.0.5.5), 00:01:04/stopped, RP 3.3.3.3, flags: SP
Incoming interface: Null, RPF nbr 0.0.0.0
Outgoing interface list: Null
(10.0.1.1, 225.0.5.5), 00:01:04/00:01:55, flags: T
Incoming interface: Ethernet0/1, RPF nbr 10.0.1.1
Outgoing interface list:
Serial1/1, Forward/Sparse, 00:01:04/00:03:25
