Do you not want to configure a pickup-group or a hunt-group to do this?

Button 1:1 (ephone1), Button 1:2 (ephone2) .
Pickup-group that has the above phones configured, with an extension.

That's what we have configured on CME / UCM.

I know what an overlay is. This feature is not yet available in CUCM. If your sole purpose is to let people call either 1000 or 2000 and it should ring the same button on a phone, you can use any of the following: 1) Create a dummy DN say 2000, set Call forward all to 1000. Assign 1000 to the Phone.2) Create a Translation Pattern for 2000 and xlate the called no to 1000.
