Ray,

You need to take another lab within one year of your previous attempt.

Since you didn't take any lab before Dec '12, you would have to retake the written exam.

Subject: CCIE written validity

Hi

I passed my CCIE RS Written in July 2011
Gave my first attempt in Dec 2011 and failed.
Since Dec 2011 till date i didnt take an attempt

In this case is my Written score valid and am i still eligible to book and
give lab

Cisco says like this

The eight-hour lab exam tests your ability to configure actual equipment
and troubleshoot the network in a timed test situation. You must make an
initial attempt of the CCIE lab exam within 18-months of passing the CCIE
written exam. If you do not pass the lab exam within three years of passing
the written exam, you must retake the written exam before being allowed to
attempt the lab exam again.

Is there a rule saying after first lab failed date you need to attempt in a
year...something like that????

Confused. I think CCIE written is valid for 3 years if you take ONE attempt
