You need to read about AToM Interworking, basically when you are mixing
different encapsulation types you need to change your AToM configuration.
Check this from the 12.2SR documentation:

Subject: AToM

Hi all
I am using GNS3 to simulate some AToM scenarios My topology is R1 -- R2 --
R3 -- R4 -- R5 Where R1 and R5 are my CE routers When i am using
fastethernet all over the network everything is working normally and i
established OSPF between the CEs without issues now , i changed the
connection between R1 and R2 to Serial and between R4 and R5 to POS Now the
issue is when i configure the xconnect command on R2 , R1's s1/0 becomes up
down R1#sh int s1/0 | inc line
Serial1/0 is up, line protocol
is down
I changed both encapsulations (PPP and HDLC) without solving The same is
happening on POS interface R5#sh int pos1/0 | inc linePOS1/0 is up, line
protocol is down

Thanks in
advance
