Hi.
What I like to do in such cases is having a look at the packets that the
devices are sending to each other. Wireshark is often the best tool for
answering such kind of questions.
Just configure MPLS/LDP and capture the packets with GNS3 or a SPAN
session if you have a lab with real switches and routers.
If you don't want to capture those packets yourself, Jeremy from
Packetlife.net has some Pcaps with LDP already online.
