Yes - getting the buy in of those that are close to you is a key part of the
process.

I'd thank Narbik for being stopped waiting his next flight connection
somewhere ;) His advices are always very helpful.

I will wait also Anthony's thoughs on this.

Anyway I think CCIE is something extreme, not only an exam to pass but a
race to win.

If you are preparing for winning a race, let's say for example the MotoGP,
or at least be in the first 10 positions, you cannot simply use your bike
times to times.
You can also tell your wife that you must use your bike 2 hours per day
because you have to win the MotoGP, those could be 2 hours of quality
training but guys, in my opinion you will never get nor the 10th position.
You can even have the best bike and the best place to get trained but
nothing to do.
You simply need a further quality time, a different strategy to win.
Full spot of dedicated time is necessary in my opinion.. Call them Saturdays
or Sundays, or full week off from work.
This is sometimes incompatible with your family.. Friends can understand I
think, but family needs you everyday or at least during weekends.
Only one solution in my opinion is get your family involved and explain them
you need months where during weekend you need time for you.
Quality is the keyword as dedication and patience also. Trying to get
quality time for you and your study and quality time for your family.
I've ended up to see that often time spent with my family is not of
quality.. and this doesn't help nor family, nor studies.
Sleep time must be sacrificed, no other options here as far as I know.

Then I wait for your though on this.
This topic is not OT at all.. strategy is sometimes 80% of ccie.. I think
there are thousand of very good engineer out there that tried to prepare the
lab, and then given up because of missing the good strategy for them.

Of course I'm in the same situation and I do everyday something for getting
better on this side.

thanks guys.

Sidney, your signature is the best one I've seen in the past years ;)
