RFP in public sector is open to anyone. Cisco gets a chance to bid
like all others.

Cisco consistently oversells. Typically we reduce BOMs from numerous
VARs by about 30% (after applied discount) when we start removing
unnecessary line items. That is part of the benefit of hiring local
Cisco SMEs w/certifications in house. We are the Cisco brokers for the
business, talking the talk and ensuring max return on investment.

I agree with Marc. Cisco is well aware of market trends. 1000v is now
offered for free (I confirmed this with our SE):

I expect that they might even sell un-licensed hardware to use with
their new open-stack code base (also free).

The world of networks is on the move and I am glad to be sharing ideas
with people who keep up :D

Regards,

Marc
