OT: Transparent Switch Causing Network Downtime On LAN

Please i have a service provider switch terminated on my core router,
anytime this switch goes down my LAN goes down. This switch is in
transparent mode, really don't understand why this should be happen.
Please what are the verification steps to know what the issue is.
