Gaurav, ASR's price is very expensive when compared to SSR or MX960.
Joe, u got to be kidding me. no way that Huwaei bought Ericsson. Ericsson
acquired Redback and Redbacks product such as Smart Edge is now under
Ercisson control
and now Ericsson has built its own Multi Service Edge router called as SSR
( Smart Service Router ) which is fast replacing all Cisco ASR 9k and
Junipers MX960 in the market nowadays.
Becasue its price is low when compared with ASR or MX and its performance
and feature set and their fabric architecture is too good when compared to
ASR9k.
I dont have much idea on MX960 fabric, but SSR fabric and throughput is
extrememly good when compared to ASR9k
140Gb/slot thorughput with 20 slots and three stage fabric with benes
architecture separated by midplanes and 188 Packet switching engines and
dedicated Fabric Queues
Overall the throughput of the box is 2Tb .
HI alberto
Thanks for ur suggestion, a quick question on MX960 . Whether MX960 has te
hardware forwarding rate for Subscriber traffic and has built in Hardware
QOS ( Txring and RXring ) for wach customer profile. Is it possible in
MX960.
Hi Marko
What is ur suggestion on Redback based routers ? Redback is good old
router. Now on the new age, do u see anyone knows about these SSR or SE
routers in the real time market .
