We do have people all the time pass on their first attempt but it's
really up to the individual as to being able to pass on their first
attempt. In my bootcamps I know which students can and can't pass in
the near future after spending two weeks with them. I do tell them if
they ask and I even tell some that don't ask ;-) I can also look at
someone's mock lab score reports and know who is and isn't ready for the
lab.
At the end of the day passing on your first attempt means you put in all
of the time required preparing BEFORE your first attempt as opposed to
someone else who hasn't put in their time before their first attempt.
In order to pass you need to put in your time preparing. That could be
before your first, second, third, etc attempt. Whatever that number is
when you pass it'll mean you put in your time.
