Purning supports only. Vlans 2-1001. Try it it will work.

Subject: Re: VTP Server and Transparent

Since question is really asking about spanning-tree I agree with Marc and
other CCIE's who siad to use 1-4094. The VTP stuff is really beside the
point to what the question is really asking.

Irregardless of VTP protocol version, there is supportability of 4095 vlans
on a 3560 switch (1-4094).

This post has been de railed to some extent with the focus on VTP and
John's ego.

On a side note with VTP, it is always nice to see the switch parser tell me
stuff before the proctor or community. I was configuring VTP pruning and
tried to allow all VLANs (thinking of this post of course). The switch
returned the following

*Cat-1(config-if)#switchport trunk pruning vlan 1-4094*
*Command rejected: Bad VLAN list - character #7 (EOL) delimits a VLAN*
*number (4094) out of the range 1 to 1005.*
*Cat-1(config-if)#switchport trunk pruning vlan 1-1005*
*Command rejected: Bad VLAN pruning list.*

After seeing this, I really thought more about the original question, which
again is asking that sw1 be root for all vlans. Again, this is with respect
to spanning tree and not VTP. Just because there is
an interrelationship between the two doesn't make this a VTP question. It
is about spanning tree and if the switch doesn't choke on making sw 1 root
for VLANS 1-4094, then I would do this as this is what the question is
specifically asking.
