moreover, isn't network engineer already doing the app stuff like F5,
Antivirus and antispam management, AD comes into that as well, more so with
the MS System center, Asterisk, and with virtualization, stuff like server
provisioning, VDI is something that many engineers are already doing, I
know i am.
even the app space need the *network* to run on so i don't think that
eliminates the engineer, it just changes the title, and many will just end
up doing the "network" part as well as configuration of it with support of
the applications.
CLI is just another tool and skill which may help you land a job than
someone who doesn't know have it or is app centric!
