It all depends on the size of the environment. You can use the C series
(rack mount 1U / 2U). On CCO they have descriptions of the features. C
series does not use fabric interconnects however it has a trimmed down
management UI. If it is a company that will be moving more apps and growing
then you would use the UCS B series. Every customer I work with uses B
series along with virtualization - namely VMware. Each blade chassis has up
to 8 half width blades available and with the new 2208XP FEX you can ship up
to 160 Gbps northbound. With B series you need the fabric interconnects and
usually some sort of SAN switches (for san storage). Again, this information
is available on CCO. If you work for a Cisco partner you can see about
getting access to CCW or your company can license netformx to generate
quotes / BoMs and gain access to Cisco bundles for hardware. Netformx has a
decent advisor tool to help you walk through building a Unified Computing
quote.
