I was struggling with this a few months back. It also took me tons of
practice to understand what is going on. It depends on how the route is
getting reintroduced into the IGP and causing the loop or routes to become
un reachable. I think INE's recent ATC with Brian McGahan did a wonderful
job breaking this down. After watching that 3 part series and alot of time
on CLI I am more comfortable. I built this little topology in GNS3 (
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B6ODb-lpMS4fZGtJVFlOcXlSX3VybFBUaGhQNU14dw/edit?pli=1#)
and performed redistribution on connected for all routers and mutual
between all routers. This caused loops from routes being re introduced. in
a few directions.
I posed the question out to this list for assistance on getting this
stable. Jochn Bartel nailed it. You could probably go through archives and
work through the scenario. I should probably update the blog but have moved
on to other things.
Long and shot is to keep at it. If you get frustrated, then maybe move to
another topic for a bit (there are plenty!) but just keep working both with
instruction and application to gain more comfort.
btw I read the blogs posted by Manouchehr Omari written by Petr. They were
helpful as well.
Good Luck
