Don't forget it isn't about the certification all together. Much is
imparted in the knowlege gained for going down a certification track. As
NX-OS matures, Nexus line continues to expand in data centers, and possibly
replace the catalyst line for aggregation switches there is huge need for
Network engineers to adopt the technology. It is a different beast than
Catalsyt IOS or router IOS. I think that is the point and a highly relavant
certification at that.
I have been working on R & S since the V3 days. I haven't been able to
score the cert....yet... but the knowledge I have gained along the way
greatly contributed to getting through my carer success. Everybody has a
personal view of the world that becomes an individual's reality. It is all
about how you perceive it. In the end, the world keeps spinning and non of
us are at the center of it.
Cisco is very receptive to open criticism and constructive feedback. They
are probably the best judges w/respect to what helps them grow as an
organization. Just as I have trusted the knowledge I am learning in R & S
is relavent to my job duties, the same is most likely true for CCIE Data
Center and what it provides for NX-OS and the Nexus fleet.
Having had opportunities to work with all those products, I think it is
great there is now a structured learning path and certification revolved
around them.
Regards,
Marc
