You also need to read up on the limitations associated with the 5K when
the L3 module is introduced. I don't have them all in front of me but
the one that I remember (as significant) is that introducing the L3
module reduces the number of FEXs that the 5K can accommodate. The 5K
may support an L3 module but based on my experience it was never
intended on being a core routing platform AND a scalable rack switch at
the same time.
