You don't typically get stats out of any one university for how many
PhD's they've awarded either, so it's moot anyway. :)

As for the generalist, wouldn't that really depend on what kind of
project someone was on? Not everyone needs to know everything.

And quite honestly, by your description, I'd call that a multiple CCIE. :)
