HSRP Standby BIA / VSS

Hello Experts,

When would be a ideal scenario to use standby bia in the hsrp
configuration. I understand what its used for, but not clear why would we
use it ?

 Also I have a design , where i have couple of 7200 running HSRP (using
standby bia) routers connecting to 6500, where 6500 is running VSS. Are
there any known issue going from HSRP to VSS
