It can only be done from booting off of the media/install disk. I don't see
anything on their site about creating a bootable password disk, but it's
almost like going through the setup but choosing the password recovery option.

Subject: OT: Shutdown ACS Appliance
Hey Group,
I am looking for a way to shutdown an ACS appliance running 5.2 to
perform
password recovery for CLI.
This info was for old version.
https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/215926
Is this going to be a HARD
reset or is there another way that I can't find?
Thanks in advance for your
assistance.
